PERCEPTION MACHINE
Perception Machine is an interactive installation that makes the AI's gaze upon humans a tangible experience. Visitors step in front of a camera, are analyzed by an AI, and evaluated based on outward characteristics. The analysis happens live and is staged visually and auditorily, accompanied by a personalized voice output. At its core is the simulation of a job application process: the machine decides who is deemed suitable. At the end, participants receive a printed data profile with assessments of their personality, style, and behavior. The installation makes it possible to experience how AI forms identity judgments based on a minimal data foundation, encouraging reflection on bias, data privacy, and societal power dynamics.
